How do I install the Chrome extension?

The Eternal Reminder Chrome Extension lets you add reminders directly while using FamilySearch. Follow these steps to install it on your computer.

Steps to install

1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
2. Go to eternalreminder.org/extension.php.
3. Click the link to open the extension in the Chrome Web Store.
4. In the Chrome Web Store, click “Add to Chrome.”
5. When prompted, click “Add extension.”

After a few moments, the Eternal Reminder icon will appear near the top-right corner of your browser. The extension is now ready to use.

How to confirm it’s installed

Once installed, look for a small Eternal Reminder icon near your address bar. You may need to click the puzzle-shaped icon (Extensions) to see it. You can pin it by clicking the pin symbol next to its name so it’s always visible.

Before you start

Make sure you are signed in to both FamilySearch and eternalreminder.org in Chrome. This allows the extension to connect properly so you can add reminders while viewing ancestors.

You can now click the extension icon anytime you are on an ancestor’s page in FamilySearch to quickly create a reminder.
